Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, invited all education stakeholders to realise a friendly School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) to guarantee the creation of a safe and comfortable learning space for children. “With this Friendly MPLS, we invite all parties to work together so that we can educate our children, the children of Indonesia, to become great children heading towards the Golden Indonesia Generation 2045,” he said.

Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Atip Latipulhayat, regretted the disbandment of the first day of the Friendly School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) activities at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, due to an alleged bomb terror threat sent via private message. He strongly condemned the irresponsible parties who spread the bomb terror, thus disrupting the security and peace of the teaching and learning process within the education unit environment. “I regret the occurrence of this act of terror by making the school a terror zone. An area that should be protected together and is a shared responsibility to guarantee security and peace in the teaching and learning process. We strongly condemn these irresponsible parties,” said the Deputy Minister.
- Ministry of Social Affairs: National MPLS for Sekolah Rakyat students to be held in four waves
The Ministry of Social Affairs has scheduled the implementation of the national School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for new students of Sekolah Rakyat in stages across four waves starting on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, said that the staggered implementation of MPLS is being carried out to adjust to the functional readiness of facilities and infrastructure at each education unit. “MPLS will be implemented in stages in four waves, starting from 14 July 2026, adjusting to the readiness of facilities and infrastructure at each education unit,” he said.
- First MBG after school holidays, BGN ensures improved nutritional quality
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has ensured an improvement in nutritional quality in the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG), which was rolled out again today after the school holidays. Deputy Head of BGN, Trenggono, reminded that nutritional quality remains the top priority in every menu served. The daily menu needs to consistently contain animal protein as an important component to support the growth and development of school-age children. “We want to ensure every child receives complete and balanced nutritional intake. Therefore, menus containing animal protein, including meat, need to be made available continuously while still paying attention to food safety standards, nutritional adequacy, and the availability of raw materials in each region,” he said.
- PKH and BPNT social assistance for the third quarter to be disbursed on 20 July
The Ministry of Social Affairs has confirmed that the distribution of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) Social Assistance and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) or basic food programme for the third quarter of the July-September period will begin to be disbursed on 20 July. Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, said that the administrative process for disbursing the operational assistance is currently in the final synchronisation stage after the Ministry of Social Affairs received the latest population data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). “The third-quarter social assistance is being processed. Yesterday we received the latest data from BPS, and now we are cleansing it. God willing, it will be completed within the next two to three days, and at the very least, by the 20th, it will begin to be distributed,” he said.
