Humaniora highlights: Electricity restored in Central Sulawesi, NU holds Munas-Konbes

State electricity company PLN has confirmed that power restoration in Central Sulawesi, following the 6.7 magnitude earthquake on Monday (16/6), has reached 100 percent. “The acceleration of the electricity network recovery was carried out successfully thanks to the cooperation of all teams in the field,” said PLN’s Vice President of Sulmapana Distribution Control, Eko Prihandana, in a written statement received in Palu on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is encouraging the improvement of academic qualifications for lecturers through the 2026 Doctoral Scholarship Programme for Indonesian Lecturers (BPDDI). Minister Brian Yuliarto emphasised in Jakarta on Sunday that lecturers are the greatest asset of higher education, playing a crucial role in improving the quality of learning, research, and national innovation. In other news, Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia Marc Gerritsen stated that football serves as a bridge strengthening ties between the Netherlands and Indonesia, particularly with Maluku, which shares a long historical connection with the country. Finally, the Deputy Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board, KH Ma’shum Faqih, reminded participants that proper conduct must remain the primary guide in every deliberation of Indonesia’s largest Islamic organisation.
