A number of policewomen were deployed to provide security and services to demonstrators in the Silang Monas Selatan area. The policewomen from the Polda Metro Jaya Dalmas Sub-directorate delivered humane service as negotiators. The activity was led by the Head of the Negotiation Section of the PMJ Dalmas Sub-directorate, Kompol Sri Ernawati, alongside the policewomen negotiator team. The presence of policewomen negotiators on the ground is part of Polda Metro Jaya’s efforts to ensure that public expression activities proceed safely, orderly, humanely, and conducively. During the operation, the policewomen negotiators employed a persuasive approach and established good communication with the protest participants. In addition to providing public security and order advisories, the personnel also provided humane services to the public at the location. On that occasion, the policewomen negotiators also distributed bottled mineral water and bread to the demonstrators. This gesture was positively received by the crowd. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the presence of policewomen negotiators demonstrates the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to providing the best service to the public, particularly during public expression activities. “The Police are here to serve and protect the public. In every public expression activity, we prioritise a humane, persuasive, and professional approach so that the activity can proceed safely and orderly,” said Budi Hermanto on Thursday (18/6/2026). He added that all personnel on duty have been directed to maintain their composure, prioritise communication, and not be easily provoked when facing dynamics on the ground. “We urge all protest participants to maintain order, respect other road users, and convey their aspirations peacefully,” he added. Polda Metro Jaya hopes that public expression activities can take place in an orderly and conducive manner, while maintaining the security and comfort of the surrounding community.
