Human resource development
From Media Indonesia
No one will likely accept that our country's best human
resources are mostly utilized by the large multinational
corporations operating here. Hence the issue of proper
empowerment of skilled workers has to be given serious attention.
The development of qualified human resources depends largely
on many factors, especially the education system. Education is
intentionally made available to introduce a change and arouse
consciousness among citizens here that they should be aware of
the vast realities of the world in which we live. And further,
they must adjust themselves to these realities or even
reconstruct the environment to benefit humankind.
The education system, particularly the formal one, has to
become a reference for determining the quality of the human
resources. In this context, the government should be bold in
making its commitment to provide greater allocations from the
state budget for education. Also, the private sector (foreign or
domestic) should shoulder a bigger role in helping this country
implement its education programs to ensure that the goal of
education can be achieved by contributing a fraction of their
wealth through taxes.
