Hulu Sungai Utara Prosecutors Case: KPK Summons 10 Witnesses in Malang-Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned 10 witnesses in Malang, East Java, and Jakarta in connection with the investigation into an alleged extortion case involving the enforcement of law by three prosecutors at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office in South Kalimantan.
“The examination is taking place at the Malang City Police Resort in East Java and the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Budi explained that the KPK has summoned seven witnesses for examination in Malang: TM, NGN, and KRN as private individuals, NKS as a retiree, PRE as a notary, HS as a retiree, and WNO as a civil servant.
Meanwhile, the other three witnesses summoned for examination in Jakarta are HIS as staff in the Civil and Administrative Affairs Division of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, AHS as a prosecutor at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, and AD as a detention guard or Assistant Expenditure Treasurer at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office.
Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, South Kalimantan, on 18 December 2025.
On 19 December 2025, the KPK announced the arrest of six individuals in the sting operation, including the Head of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu, and the Head of the Intelligence Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, Asis Budianto.
On the same date, the KPK announced the seizure of hundreds of millions of rupiah in the case allegedly related to extortion.
Then, on 20 December 2025, the KPK named Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu (APN), Asis Budianto (ASB), and Tri Taruna Fariadi (TAR) as the Head of the Civil and Administrative Affairs Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office as suspects in the alleged extortion case in the law enforcement process at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
However, on that date, only Albertinus Napitupulu and Asis Budianto were detained by the KPK because Tri Taruna was still at large.
On 22 December 2025, the Attorney General’s Office handed over Tri Taruna to the KPK. The anti-corruption agency then detained him for the initial 20 days.
On 24 December 2025, the KPK announced the seizure of one four-wheeled vehicle belonging to the Tolitoli Regency Government after searching three houses of Albertinus Napitupulu.
