Hughes extends contract
JAKARTA (JP): Hughes Aircraft of Canada Ltd., a Canadian air
traffic system company, has agreed to extend a US$770,000
subcontract to PT Elektrindodaya Parkabusa, a subsidiary of the
Bimantara Group, for the manufacturing of equipment for an
automatic message switching center.
According to a press release made available yesterday, the
facility will form an integral part of the automated air traffic
system being prepared in the city.
The program is based on a transfer of technology program
supported by the Canadian International Development Agency,
Hughes and the state-owned electronics company PT LEN.
The program, begun in 1994, is an integral part of Hughes
Canada's overall solution to modernize the country's national air
traffic management system. (icn)
