Huawei's New-Gen OceanStor Dorado Converged All-Flash Storage Passes Enterprise Strategy Group Technical Validation
Barcelona, Spain — At the MWC Barcelona 2026, Enterprise Strategy Group (now part of Omdia) released a technical validation report on Huawei’s New-Gen OceanStor Dorado Converged All-Flash Storage.
The report states that corporate data volumes are rising rapidly in the AI era, changing how companies operate and elevating the standards of data storage infrastructure in terms of performance, resilience, system intelligence, and cost efficiency. Although many vendors offer all-flash solutions, compromises in architectural design often complicate the balance between performance, reliability, and cost, limiting the benefits organisations can obtain.

Tests conducted in a high-concurrency database environment show this all-flash system can sustain very high performance, over 876,256 IOPS, with an average response time of only 32 microseconds. The system also supports storage of various data types through a native and parallel architecture for block, file, and object storage.
The active-active solution supports failover without disruption across data centres. The SmartMatrix full-mesh architecture remains operational even if seven of eight controller enclosures fail, without service interruption. The FlashEver feature supports cross-generation convergence and replacement of storage devices, without service disruption. The system also delivers comprehensive intelligent protection with built-in ransomware detection for SAN and NAS.
DataMaster agents on the iMaster DME data management platform automatically assess system health, predict performance trends, and track fault locations within minutes.
Additionally, the five-year TCO analysis shows Huawei’s New-Gen OceanStor Dorado Converged All-Flash Storage can reduce total cost of ownership by up to 64% compared with traditional hybrid storage media. Savings cover procurement, operations and maintenance (O&M), and energy consumption.
