Huawei's 506 kW Smart String Inverter Wins Smarter E AWARD at Intersolar Europe 2026
Huawei has won the Smarter E AWARD 2026 in the ‘Photovoltaics’ category at Intersolar Europe 2026 for its Smart String 506 kW inverter (SUN2000-506KTL). The product was the only utility-scale PV inverter to receive an award this year, marking one of the most prestigious accolades in the PV industry for Huawei.
The SUN2000-506KTL is the industry’s first commercially available string inverter with a capacity exceeding 500 kW. Beyond offering increased power and voltage compared to its predecessor, the SUN2000-330KTL, it delivers three technological breakthroughs: the industry’s first 1000Vac PV string inverter, the first string inverter with grid-forming features, and the highest power density in its class. These innovations provide customers with four key benefits: optimised return on investment, enhanced grid-forming capability, more efficient operations and maintenance, and improved safety and reliability, elevating Smart String inverter innovation to a new level.
As a flagship product within Huawei’s latest-generation FusionSolar 9.0 utility-scale Smart PV solution, the 506KTL string inverter has been widely deployed across various projects. Since 2025, Huawei has been applying the solution in diverse scenarios in the Chinese market, while international adoption has also grown rapidly. Currently, more than 10 GW of solar projects across multiple countries are being developed using FusionSolar 9.0, with some project developers even redesigning their plans to incorporate the solution due to its lower balance of system (BOS) costs and improved lifecycle economic value.
