Barcelona, Spain — Huawei has successfully secured eight Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at MWC Barcelona 2026. The awards include Best Mobile Network Infrastructure, Best AI-Powered Network Solution, Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution, Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers, Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing, Best FinTech & Digital Commerce Innovation, Best Use of Mobile for Accessibility & Inclusion, and Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People.

The GLOMO Awards, organised by GSMA, are among the most prestigious and influential awards in the global mobile communications industry. The judging panel comprises leading experts from a range of industry sectors.

Best Mobile Network Infrastructure

Huawei has developed a range of innovative solutions for ultra-broadband, multi-antenna technology, and energy efficiency that support the evolution of networks towards 5G across all frequency bands. These innovations help operators deploy AI-based mobile networks that facilitate evolution to 5G-Advanced (5G-A) with high performance and very low energy consumption, setting new benchmarks for the global communications industry.

Best AI-Powered Network Solution

Huawei, together with China Mobile, developed an operational transformation solution ‘AI+Network’ for Autonomous Networks (AN). The solution addresses key operational barriers such as efficiency, growth, and cost. In addition to supporting the deployment of AN Level 4 (L4), the solution delivers both technical and business value from the application of AI. It also introduces the world’s first multi-agent A2A-T operator-level communication protocol, enabling cross-domain autonomous agent collaboration and enhancing network capabilities from single-point intelligence to swarm intelligence.

Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution

China Telecom’s Satellite Communications division, in collaboration with Huawei, has developed the industry’s first technology that connects handsets directly to Tiantong satellites. The technology includes ultra-short-code, high-gain convolutional channel coding, and adaptive voice quantisation. At present, 40 handset models and seven vehicle infotainment systems have adopted this technology to communicate via the Tiantong satellite system in mainland China, Hong Kong, and several other countries and regions. The technology is also used in maritime and aviation sectors in low-altitude airspace.

Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers

Telkomsel Indonesia, in partnership with Huawei, received the GSMA GLOMO award for Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers thanks to leveraging the UE Logo to deliver a guaranteed service experience. The award reinforces Indonesia’s role as a pioneer in monetising customer experiences, and serves as a benchmark for operators globally.

Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing

The Ubiquitous AI Health Assistant project, developed by China Mobile 5G New Calling and Huawei, won Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing. This marks a new milestone in intelligent communication embracing the concept of ‘calling as a service’.

Best FinTech & Digital Commerce Innovation

Ziidi Wealth Platform, developed by Safaricom and Huawei, won Best FinTech & Digital Commerce Innovation. The two companies have collaborated for more than a decade on mobile financial services in Africa. Ziidi is a Money Market Fund (MMF) launched by Safaricom in Kenya in 2025. This service improves financial inclusion by offering a digital, real‑time, safe investment solution accessible to middle- and low-income communities.

The platform uses Huawei Mobile Money solutions that integrate data from the Business Support System (BSS), Operations Support System (OSS), and other domains, and is equipped with operational support and credit risk management capabilities. It also expands access to financial services globally and accelerates the development of digital lifestyle and intelligent service portals.

Best Use of Mobile for Accessibility & Inclusion

China Mobile and Huawei collaborated to develop Ubiquitous Mobile Health Assistant. With support from China Mobile’s 5G New Calling network and health AI agents, the assistant provides a range of health services including medical consultations, health assistance, and health management. The technology turns a phone call application into a portable health service portal accessible to every family.

Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People

The Qingjiao Plan in Lancang County, Pu’er, China, initiated by China Telecom, CSEF, and Huawei, leverages China Telecom’s 5G network and Huawei Cloud WeLink to build a virtual community connecting teachers and pupils in Lancang and Shanghai. The programme also integrates 5G and Wi‑Fi in school environments. To date, the project has reached dozens of primary and secondary schools in Lancang, trained more than 600 teachers in rural areas, and benefited more than 5,000 pupils. Nationally, the programme has trained almost 180,000 teachers, promoting education equality through digital technology.

MWC Barcelona 2026 took place from 2–5 March 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, Huawei showcased a range of new products and solutions at booth 1H50, Hall 1, Fira Gran Via.

The era of the agentic network is approaching, while the commercial deployment of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) is expanding. Huawei continues to work with operators and partners worldwide to maximise
