Huawei has introduced the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, a wearable device designed to accompany such activities. Edy Supartono, Senior Retail Manager of Huawei Device Indonesia, said that wearable technology is moving towards devices capable of supporting diverse activities within a single device. ‘Wearables are no longer just accessories; they are part of the digital lifestyle. Through smartwatches, users can monitor health, support sports, and stay connected in various situations,’ he said.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 features a design that prioritises durability as well as aesthetics. A notable element is the use of a nano microcrystalline ceramic bezel, which provides an elegant appearance while increasing the device’s resistance to everyday use. The display is protected by sapphire glass, known for its high scratch resistance, commonly used in premium devices to maintain screen clarity over time.
The Watch Ultimate 2 offers screen brightness up to 3500 nits, ensuring readability even under direct sunlight – important for outdoor users. For navigation, the device includes a titanium crown for precise control and a rugged feel. The strap uses fluoroelastomer designed for comfort during various activities, including high-intensity sports. Huawei also employs ultra-reliable liquid metal in several components to improve resistance to pressure and long-term use.
One standout capability is support for diving activities. The device is described as the first smartwatch in the industry to support diving technology to a depth of 150 metres, with built-in audio capabilities. This technology meets ISO 22810 and EN 13319 standards commonly used in professional diving devices, allowing users to monitor activity underwater.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 also introduces underwater sonar-based communication, enabling users to communicate beneath the water surface, a feature rarely found in smartwatches.
Beyond diving, the Watch Ultimate 2 is designed to support a range of outdoor activities. It features professional outdoor sport capabilities, including high-altitude adaptation for high-altitude activity, AI voice noise reduction to keep communications clear in noisy environments, and the Huawei Sunflower Positioning System for improved location accuracy. There is also an advanced expedition mode that allows users to import routes and access contour maps offline, aiding journeys in areas with limited connectivity.
The Watch Ultimate 2 is designed to support various sports, including golf. It includes a professional golf mode with more than 17,000 golf course maps that can be magnified to help users understand course layouts and distances to targets.
In addition to sports and outdoor features, Huawei has introduced health monitoring via the Multi-Sensing X-TAP system, combining ECG, PPG, and tactile sensors. With this integrated sensor system, users can monitor a range of health indicators more conveniently using a device they wear daily.
Edy Supartono added that wearable devices are now designed to provide an experience that blends with users’ activities. ‘We see more users wanting devices that can support health, sport, and outdoor activities simultaneously. As a result, wearable innovation continues to evolve to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle,’ he said.
