Huawei Indonesia has launched a series of Ramadan breaking-of-fast activities across various regions through its CSR programme themed ‘Sharing Happiness, Caring for Indonesia’. The initiative continues a tradition of social responsibility spanning seven consecutive years.

This initiative reinforces Huawei’s commitment to Indonesia through the distribution of food aid whilst creating moments of togetherness with communities in need.

Under the CSR pillar ‘Huawei I Do Care’, Huawei has distributed food donation packages to 12 Islamic orphanages across Indonesia. This year’s programme is specifically focused on children in orphanages located in areas recovering from natural disasters, as well as underprivileged communities.

Through this programme, Huawei aims to create an inclusive, warm atmosphere full of happiness to connect hearts and share hope during the month of Ramadan.

Xin Dajiang, Chairman of the Board of Huawei Indonesia, stated that Ramadan is a moment for reflection and deep compassion. Over the past seven years, Huawei has remained steadfast in its mission to give back to Indonesian society.

“Through the theme ‘Sharing Happiness, Caring for Indonesia’, we want to do more than our role as a technology provider by sharing hope. By distributing these nutritious food packages, we hope to demonstrate that our commitment to Indonesia is rooted in empathy and inclusivity, ensuring that the benefits of our presence are directly felt by society,” he said.

In line with the government’s Nutritious Food Programme, these donation packages have been carefully designed and prepared to ensure recipients receive quality and healthy food supplies during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mohamad Rosidi, Director of ICT Strategy & Business at Huawei Indonesia, stated that Huawei I Do Care is more than just a CSR initiative; it is a long-term commitment to social welfare in Indonesia.

“We believe that technology should serve humanity, and this programme allows us to connect with communities on a personal level. We not only connect people through digital infrastructure, but also connect hearts and share hope to spread happiness during this month of Ramadan,” Rosidi said.

Huawei continues to integrate the commitment of “I Do” – which encompasses four pillars: I Do Care, I Do Collaborate, I Do Create, and I Do Contribute – into its business strategy to help build a more inclusive and prosperous Indonesia.

Source of Happiness

Zainal Arifin, Representative of the Rumah Yatim IFARS Mandiri Orphanage, expressed appreciation for Huawei’s consistency in this initiative. According to him, the nutritious food packages provided, as well as the opportunity to break the fast together, have become an extraordinary source of happiness for the children.

“We are deeply moved by the sincere compassion shown by this global company towards our welfare during this holy month of Ramadan,” said Zainal.
