Jakarta (ANTARA) - Huawei has launched a new version of the Mate 80 Pro Max, called the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition, a special edition smartphone equipped with an internal cooling fan.

According to a Gizmochina report on Saturday (21/3), pre-order services for Huawei’s new device have already opened in China.

The appearance of the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition looks similar at a glance to the regular Mate 80 Pro Max, but the camera area appears different.

Its rear camera circle is wider and has small ventilation holes. These holes are intended for the active cooling fan located inside the camera module.

This setup is designed to control heat for heavy usage.

The cooling fan is expected to help the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset maintain performance during long sessions such as gaming and intensive tasks.

The fan is also designed to assist with heat management during long-duration video recording.

To make room for the internal fan, Huawei has deliberately removed one rear camera. The Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition is only equipped with three cameras, not four like the regular model.

This smartphone supports 100W fast charging via cable and 80W wireless charging.

The device, available in Polar Night Black and Polar Day Gold colours, includes variants with 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage as well as 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.

Huawei has not yet revealed the full specifications and price of the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition.

For reference, the standard Mate 80 Pro Max is sold starting at 7,999 yuan (Rp19.7 million) in China.

The full specifications and price of the new device are expected to be announced at the official launch event on 23 March 2026.
