Huawei Launches Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution to Build a Secure WAN Foundation
Barcelona, Spain – At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei launched the Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution, which integrates network intelligence and quantum security. The innovative solution addresses two main challenges: the threat of quantum security and rising costs of enterprise network development. It thus helps industries worldwide accelerate the transition to networks secure from quantum threats.
In his address, Fernando Lopez Montes, IP CTO, Huawei Spain Enterprise Business Dept, stated that the accelerating commercialisation of quantum computing and the growing cyber threat are driving the transformation of communications networks to become smarter, more efficient, and more secure across the board. He emphasised that the Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution delivers a foundation for a new generation of networks that is practical, cost-efficient, and highly secure for various industries.
Cyber security threats continue to rise. Quantum computers are expected to be commercialised three years earlier than previously scheduled. Meanwhile, quantum attacks such as “harvest now, decrypt later” are increasingly heightening risk, particularly for critical sectors such as finance. Conventional externally sourced Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) solutions require separate devices and substantial investments. The cost of equipment and the installation of fibre optic cables can account for more than 60% of total investment, posing a major barrier to widespread deployment of quantum encryption networks.
To address these challenges, Huawei presents two technological breakthroughs through the Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution.
Breakthrough 1: The Industry’s First Integrated QKD Board That Unites Quantum Security Network and Communications
Huawei is introducing an embedded QKD board that is directly mounted on NetEngine 8000E series routers. With this approach, separate quantum encryption devices are no longer required. The solution simplifies network architecture by integrating quantum security directly into existing systems, while accelerating deployment.
Breakthrough 2: A High-Precision Interference Reduction Algorithm That Integrates Quantum, Negotiation, and Communication Channels
Huawei also introduces an algorithm that reduces interference with high precision so that quantum signals, negotiation, and communication run through the same optical fibre. This approach eliminates the need for additional devices or extra optical fibre, reducing total investment costs by more than 60%.
The Xinghe Intelligent Traffic-Encryption Integration Solution fuses network intelligence with quantum security comprehensively, reducing barriers to the deployment of quantum encryption while significantly enhancing security protections.
Huawei is committed to leading innovation in the fields of network intelligence and quantum security, and to working with global partners to build the next-generation WAN that is intelligent, secure, and efficient. Through collaboration, Huawei and its partners aim to build a foundation secure from quantum threats to support the digital world of the future.
