Barcelona, Spain — At the Product & Solution Launch event held at MWC Barcelona 2026, Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, introduced the New-Generation AI-Powered Green Site Solution and GW-level AIDC. Both solutions help operators build networks with a zero-carbon target and provide a solid foundation for AI computing in the agentic Internet era, while accelerating smart and low-carbon transformation.

AI-Powered Green Site

As intelligent technology advances, AI-driven traffic growth is accelerating and presents challenges for power facilities at network sites. Huawei’s AI-Powered Green Site solution is the first to deliver integrated intelligent synergy, increasing network resilience while reducing operational expenditure (OPEX), and converting operator energy storage assets into new revenue streams.

  • Without network outages due to power cuts: The iBackup feature doubles power backup time and increases site power availability to 99.9%. In Kuwait, emergency backup time rose from 3 hours to 6 hours, keeping services running during outages.

  • Only one tank of fuel per year: The smart algorithm integrates weather data, generation, and load forecasts to schedule the use of solar PV, energy storage, and generators (gensets) in a coordinated manner. In South Africa, this solution helped customers cut fuel consumption by up to 75%, saving more than US$10,000 and reducing carbon emissions by 18 tonnes per network location per year.

  • From cost savings to revenue: A virtual power plant solution for various scenarios enables operator energy storage assets to participate in the power market and generate revenue. In Northern Europe, this solution helped customers increase annual revenue by more than €2,000 per network location.

GW-level AIDC Solution

In the era of intelligent technology, demand for computing has surged, driving the construction of AI data centres (AIDC). However, challenges remain in reliability, energy consumption, deployment speed, and ease of development. Huawei presents a data centre facility solution that redefines four key aspects: power supply, cooling, energy storage, and operations. The result is a highly reliable, energy-efficient, rapidly deployable, and comprehensively compatible AIDC solution that maximises compute efficiency per watt.

  • Comprehensive power supply for AIDC: Through power supply innovations from the grid to silicon, Huawei has developed an integrated PowerPOD solution with high density, high efficiency, and optimal reliability to accelerate AIDC construction.

  • Comprehensive cooling for AIDC: With heat dissipation innovations from the chip level to the external environment, Huawei delivers an integrated IT POD solution that is efficient, reliable and intelligent, supporting stable and energy-efficient AIDC cooling.

  • AI for data centre operations: AI is used to enhance security and energy efficiency across the lifecycle of the data centre. AI for security: Predicting and identifying disruptions enables the shift from reactive response to predictive maintenance.

  • AI for energy efficiency: Coordinated and intelligent optimisation between cooling and power supply helps cut energy consumption.

According to Bob He, Huawei will continue to leverage its integrated technology strengths in energy, wireless, and services to help operators build more flexible, reliable, and eco-friendly ICT power facilities. These steps will accelerate smart transformation in the AI era and support long-term business success.
