Huawei launches HarmonyOS 7 with 'spatial effect' and AI enhancements
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Huawei has officially launched its latest operating system, HarmonyOS 7, during its annual application developer conference.
In general, this operating system arrives with a fresher visual experience known as ‘spatial effect’ and more optimised artificial intelligence (AI) capacities.
According to a report by Gizmochina on Friday, Huawei stated that this new version of the operating system is also designed to provide more integrated interaction across its entire device ecosystem, ranging from smartphones and tablets to PCs and wearable devices.
Huawei is striving to introduce three-dimensional effects throughout the system, including a lock screen that feels integrated with the wallpaper. This display also features new lighting effects, adding movement and depth to buttons, sliders, and other on-screen elements.
Regarding AI enhancements, Huawei has integrated artificial intelligence more deeply into HarmonyOS 7. Huawei stated that this is its first operating system built around a comprehensive AI-based architecture, rather than simply adding AI features on top of an existing system.
The enhanced AI assistant, Celia, is now positioned as a system-level intelligence hub capable of understanding user intent, performing multi-step actions, and executing deeper interactions with applications and services.
Huawei also introduced the HarmonyOS Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0, which is claimed to increase the task completion rate for complex requests to over 90 per cent.
This update also expands AI capabilities within HarmonyOS, particularly in content creation. Various photo editing tools are now smarter, accompanied by better system-level assistance.
Huawei stated that its AI assistant can now support a wider range of commands within applications and respond to natural language requests more effectively.
Alongside the AI enhancements, HarmonyOS 7 introduces a new anti-fraud platform aimed at protecting users from common scams. The system can identify suspicious QR codes, detect potentially fraudulent webpages, flag application impersonation attempts, and recognise spoofed foreign telephone numbers.
According to Huawei, HarmonyOS 7 delivers up to 15 per cent better performance than the previous generation while maintaining control over long-term system load growth.
Huawei has also confirmed the devices eligible for the HarmonyOS 7 Developer Beta programme. Starting today, the developer beta is available for devices such as the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, Mate X7, Mate XT Master, Pura 90 Pro Max, Pura X, Pura X Collector’s Edition, and nova 15 Pro.
Developers with supported devices can begin testing HarmonyOS 7 immediately, while the launch of the stable version is expected to take place by the end of this year. The Huawei Mate 90 series, which is expected to launch in September in China, will be the first Huawei phones equipped with the stable version of HarmonyOS 7.
