Huawei Launches AI Practice LAB (AIPL) Solution, Introducing a New Paradigm for 'Education + AI' Human Resource Development
Shanghai, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Huawei has globally launched the AI Practice LAB (AIPL) Solution during the Global Education Summit, themed “AI × Education: Building the Talent Foundation for the Digital & Intelligent Era,” held in Shanghai as part of HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. On the same occasion, Huawei also published the “AI+ Practical Teaching White Paper” (hereinafter referred to as the “White Paper”).
As AI-based educational transformation continues to evolve, conventional learning patterns focused on theory are finding it increasingly difficult to meet industry demands for practical skills. Consequently, the development of AI human resources has become a priority in higher education. Drawing on experience across various industries, Huawei presents the AIPL Solution, which relies on scenarios, data, and algorithms from real-world conditions. This solution bridges the gap between theoretical learning and industrial needs through industry case studies, anonymised data, and engineering tools within the learning process. This approach assists universities in preparing AI professionals who are better aligned with industry requirements.
Tao Jingwen, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Huawei, stated that Huawei, alongside educational institutions and companies across various industries, is utilising AI technology to develop practice-based educational models. “We are building the ‘roads’ and ‘bridges’ that connect theoretical learning, practical application, and research innovation. Huawei will continue to strengthen its commitment to the education sector through an open approach, collaborating with universities, research institutes, and industry partners worldwide. Through technological innovation, we aim to support digital and intelligent transformation in the education sector.”
During the session, Li Junfeng, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector BU; Pang Chuanchun, Director of the Learning & Certification Services Dept at Huawei; He Lian, Vice President of Wuhan University; and Xue Guangtao, Director of the Network & Information Centre at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, participated in the global launch of the Huawei AIPL Solution.
Currently, Huawei is collaborating with 12 pioneer partners to develop AI practical learning solutions. These solutions have already been implemented in several universities, including the Beijing Institute of Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This global launch aims to expand the application of AI practical concepts and solutions across various countries while driving the global development of AI innovation human resources.
Huawei, along with several universities and partners, also published the “AI+ Practical Teaching White Paper” during the session. The launch was witnessed by Du Min, President of Huawei Higher Education BU; Sun Gang, Director of the ICT Talent Partner Development Dept at Huawei; Zhang Jianlyun, Vice President of Huawei; Bi Xiaohan, Deputy Director of the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation; Xia Zhengwei, Deputy Director of the Information Centre at Wuhan University; Li Kangju, President of Shenyang Institute of Technology; and Lu Jie, Deputy Director of BGI College.
The White Paper outlines the theoretical foundations and practical steps for restructuring human resource development patterns in higher education during the AI era. Focusing on “AI + practical learning,” the White Paper proposes a transformation framework consisting of “one foundation, two types of elements, three levels of courses, four dimensions of evaluation, and five parties in the ecosystem.” This framework serves as a systematic, practical, and easily implementable guide for university administrators, educators, educational researchers, and industry professionals.
Moving forward, Huawei will continue to work with universities and partners to strengthen the digital and intelligent foundations of the education sector and expand the application of the AIPL model across various disciplines. Through technology and practice-based learning, Huawei aims to bring cutting-edge industrial technology and real business scenarios into educational resources to support practical training, intelligent teaching, smart campuses, and research innovation. Through this approach, high-quality educational materials can be shared and utilised more widely.
