Jakarta (ANTARA) – Huawei’s new true wireless stereo (TWS) audio device, the FreeBuds Neo, has been launched in Indonesia with a compact, lightweight design and adaptive noise-cancellation technology.

Huawei Device Indonesia Senior Retail Manager Edy Supartono said the FreeBuds Neo had been designed to be compact and light for comfortable everyday use.

“Each earbud weighs just 4.8 grams, making it light and comfortable to wear. It is as light as a sheet of A4 paper,” Edy said in Jakarta on Thursday.

The FreeBuds Neo was designed using more than 10,000 ear-data samples and 150 representative ear profiles to distribute pressure evenly.

The TWS earbuds feature a light mini-stem design, with 60 per cent of the front surface serving as a touch area for controlling playback, volume and noise-cancellation modes.

The device also supports high-resolution lossless audio with data transfer speeds of up to 2.3 Mbps, as well as spatial audio for an immersive 3D sound experience.

Another feature is Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC), powered by a third-generation audio chip that is claimed to capture noise data up to 400,000 times per second, with processing latency as low as eight microseconds.

“With a dual-channel noise-cancellation architecture, the Huawei FreeBuds Neo delivers an average noise-cancellation depth of 30 decibels across the entire frequency range,” Edy said.

For voice calls, the FreeBuds Neo uses artificial intelligence-based noise reduction to keep the user’s voice clear, even in environments with noise levels of up to 95 decibels.

The device is claimed to provide up to 40 hours of use with the support of its charging case.

The Huawei FreeBuds Neo is available in Ice White, Stellar Silver and Nebula Pink. The TWS earbuds are priced at Rp1,799,000 in Indonesia.
