Shanghai, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Huawei has introduced the latest version of its Stellar AI WAN solution at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event. By prioritising computational efficiency and multi-dimensional security, this solution is designed to address the challenges of cross-regional computing—ranging from efficiency and cost to security—and to drive AI implementation across various industries in the era of artificial intelligence.

Stellar AI WAN for Intelligent Connectivity

As the demand for AI computing continues to rise, the development of new computing infrastructure in Western nations has made remote computing access increasingly common. However, conventional networks still face three primary challenges in supporting cross-regional computing:

  • Drastic reduction in efficiency: Accessing cross-regional computing over distances of 1,000 km can reduce efficiency by up to 37%, even when the packet loss rate is only 0.073%.

  • High costs of on-premise implementation: Building local computing infrastructure requires costs starting from RMB 1 million per branch.

  • Expensive private lines: Companies spend approximately RMB 1.2 million per year for 10G private lines.

To address these challenges, Leon Wang, President of the Data Communication Product Line at Huawei, introduced the Stellar AI WAN solution, which supports the delivery of computing capacity without packet loss over distances of up to 1,000 km. Consequently, this solution provides a remote computing experience comparable to local computing. The XH computing-network device utilises a layerwise model partitioning algorithm to run the initial and final layers of the inference process locally, while the intermediate layers are processed on remote infrastructure. The network only transmits high-dimensional vectors, ensuring that raw data remains at the user’s location. This device requires only two xPUs to achieve performance equivalent to a standard eight-xPU configuration. As a result, xPU costs can be reduced by up to 75%. The latest version of the Starnet lossless algorithm also cuts idle bandwidth time by more than 80% and reduces bandwidth requirements fivefold, making cross-regional computing costs even more economical.

Stellar AI WAN for Security

Amidst the rise in global cyber security threats, various new attack methods such as APT and HNDL continue to emerge. To counter these, Huawei has introduced a three-tier WAN defence mechanism:

  • Device level: Built-in security boards detect and block intrusions in real-time, tracking threats within minutes with an accuracy rate of over 95%.

  • Link level: Built-in QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) provides robust quantum security without the need for additional devices or fibre optics, cutting costs by more than 60%. An adaptive noise suppression algorithm extends the transmission range of QKD to over 80 km.

  • Network level: APN6-based data fencing controls traffic paths across the network, ensuring that data can only pass through secure networks equipped with built-in security systems and quantum encryption.

Looking ahead, Huawei will continue to enhance the Stellar AI WAN solution by strengthening the synergy between computing, networking, and multi-dimensional security. Alongside its partners, Huawei aims to strengthen the foundations of intelligent networks and accelerate AI deployment across various enterprises.
