Huawei Cloud Summit Held at MWC26: Solving Industry Challenges with AI
Barcelona, Spain – 1 March – Huawei Cloud hosted the Huawei Cloud Summit under the theme ‘Huawei Cloud: Solving Industry Challenges with AI’ in Barcelona. At the event, Huawei Cloud announced ‘Industry AI Foundry’, introduced the latest generation of hybrid cloud solutions with Huawei Cloud Foundation (HCF), and showcased CodeArts, an AI-based programming agent that helps various industries to thrive in the AI era.
Prioritising Strategic Investment to Increase Added Value
In his address, Dr Peter Zhou, CEO of Huawei Cloud, stressed that cloud and AI are core to Huawei’s strategy to drive sustainable investments in R&D and innovation. Over the past year, Huawei Cloud has recorded significant global progress and it is projected to continue rising in the years ahead. In 2026, Huawei Cloud is committed to delivering cloud services that are secure, reliable and high-quality to create greater added value for customers and partners. With a strong synergy between hardware and software, Huawei Cloud aims to deliver globally innovative AI services and build an open and comprehensive cloud ecosystem with stakeholders.
‘Industry AI Foundry’ to Address Industry Challenges
In a presentation titled ‘Huawei Cloud: Solving Industry Challenges with AI’, Tim Tao, President, Huawei Cloud Solution Sales, highlighted a key shift in AI development—from merely increasing computing capacity to creating real business efficiency. He described the cloud as a ‘public electricity grid’ in the AI era, becoming the foundation for more agile business innovation. Huawei Cloud introduced the ‘Industry AI Foundry’ strategy and launched the first intelligent medical zone in China. In addition, Huawei Cloud presented a complete portfolio spanning AI infrastructure, industry-specific models, an AI agent platform, and applications to help various sectors tackle real-world challenges with AI solutions.
Latest Huawei Cloud Products
In the session, Huawei Cloud also introduced HCF and CodeArts, which will be globally available from Semester II 2026.
HCF offers a new approach to hybrid cloud solutions by providing openness, ease of use, and greater resilience. The solution is designed for government and enterprise users facing complex IT environments. By combining flexibility and high security, HCF accelerates AI adoption and supports comprehensive digital and intelligent transformation.
Meanwhile, CodeArts offers a new approach to software development by combining advanced coding models, an integrated development environment (IDE), and autonomous development capabilities. Features include AI-based code generation, R&D knowledge chat, automatic unit test creation, codebase indexing, and specification-based development (SDD). With support for open-source models such as GLM-5 and DeepSeek-V3.2 and Huawei’s internal models, CodeArts provides an integrated, end-to-end intelligent development experience.
Strengthening Partnerships for Shared Success
Huawei Cloud Summit also featured experts and industry leaders from organisations such as IDC, KoçSistem, SMSA, Serpro, and Nextcloud. They shared perspectives on transformation in the AI era and innovative collaborations with Huawei Cloud across various sectors.
