JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta’s Transportation Agency (Dishub) has apologised for traffic congestion on HR Rasuna Said Road in South Jakarta on Sunday (31 May 2026) evening around 8.30pm WIB, caused by illegal parking by concertgoers on the roadway and sidewalks near GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro.

‘We apologise to the public affected by the traffic congestion and disruptions in the HR Rasuna Said area,’ said Dishub DKI Jakarta head Budi Awaluddin in a statement on Monday (1 June 2026).

A video on Instagram account @ijoeel previously showed the road congested due to illegal parking on the roadway and sidewalks, which went viral. The footage also displayed cars parked in three rows along the road, narrowing the thoroughfare.

Budi noted the concert had obtained a public event permit from police. However, Dishub DKI Jakarta did not receive coordination from event organisers regarding traffic and parking arrangements to manage the high number of attendees.

With proper coordination, Dishub could have prepared parking areas, deployed officers, and implemented traffic management and diversion measures. Additionally, they could have anticipated vehicle congestion around the venue and recommended public transport use.

Such measures are crucial to reduce private vehicle usage and minimise the impact on surrounding traffic.
