BAT Indonesia received the Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2026 award at the HR Asia Awards organised by Business Media International (BMI). The award is based on an assessment of human resource management practices, employee engagement levels, and corporate work culture.

The company also received the Platinum Harmonia Award, which is given to companies that have maintained the Best Companies to Work for in Asia title for at least ten consecutive years. According to the company, BAT Indonesia is one of only three companies in Indonesia to have achieved this since the category was introduced.

This year, BAT Indonesia also obtained the HR Asia Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards 2026 for the first time. The award is presented to companies deemed to have made significant efforts in promoting an inclusive work environment and supporting diversity.

Kemala Hayati, Area Commercial HR Partner at BAT Indonesia, stated that the awards reflect the implementation of the company’s internal values and work culture. "What makes this award even more meaningful is that this recognition comes from the real experiences of our employees, showing that trust, inclusivity, and mutual respect are truly part of our work ethos," Kemala said. She added that maintaining such achievements for a decade requires commitment from all elements of the organisation, noting that the application of company values is not solely the responsibility of the human resources function but of every employee.

The HR Asia Awards is a regional programme that evaluates human resource practices, employee engagement, and corporate culture. The assessment process involves several stages, including initial screening, an internal employee survey using the Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM), and an audit and presentation before a panel of judges. One of the aspects highlighted during the evaluation was the pattern of workplace communication. BAT Indonesia stated it will continue efforts to support a collaborative work environment and provide equal opportunities for employees.
