How Waste4Change Processes Waste from Republika's Rally for Environment Event

Waste4Change has emphasised the importance of sorting waste before disposal to facilitate easier collection and processing. This message was delivered during the Rally for Environment Padel Tournee Republika, held at Field of Paradise, Pondok Indah, Jakarta, on Saturday (12/09/2026).

Representing Waste4Change, Rama stated that waste is a persistent issue within society and cannot be entirely avoided. Therefore, the public needs to reduce waste generation and sort the waste that is inevitably produced before discarding it.

“Since we cannot avoid waste, we must ensure that when we dispose of it, it is sorted. This makes it much easier for those transporting the waste to process it later,” said Rama.

Change, sorting waste from the outset helps determine which materials can still be utilised. During this event, waste will be collected and transported to Waste4Change’s processing facilities to be separated.

“For this activity, the waste generated here will be sent to our processing facilities to be separated. From that separation, some items can be reused, some can be resold, and some can be processed into briquettes,” Rama explained.

He further explained that Waste4Change does not merely transport waste but manages it using the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) concept. Through this process, waste that still has utility can be repurposed, ensuring that only residue reaches the final landfill (TPA).

“We do not just transport waste; we also manage it. This ensures that by the time waste reaches the landfill, only the residue remains. We manage it maximally using the reuse, recycle, and reduce concepts,” Rama added.

Waste4Change has been providing waste management services for approximately 10 to 11 years. Their services encompass waste management for offices, residential areas, and various large-scale events.
