How to Track Someone's Location Using WhatsApp and Google Maps
If you want to track someone else’s location, you can use several platforms that can show a device’s location in detail. Besides people, these platforms can also be used to track a lost mobile phone. This can be done as long as you know the phone number and the device being searched for.
One of the platforms that can be used is Google Maps. This platform has a feature to track devices that have been included in the feature’s invitation.
How to track a phone using WhatsApp:
Open WhatsApp Web.
Go to the message of the person whose location you want to track. You can also ask that person to send a new message if the last message is no longer available. This is useful for obtaining that person’s IP address.
Next, press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys simultaneously. This combination will open the Task Manager.
Press Windows+R simultaneously.
Click cmd and press the Enter key.
When the command prompt appears, type netstat and press Enter.
Note the IP address that appears.
Next, go to an IP address lookup website and track the person’s location by entering the obtained IP address.
How to track people using Google Maps:
Open the Google Maps application.
Go to the Options menu and navigate to the Friend List.
Next, select Add Friend.
Invite the phone number of the person whose location you want to know.
Ensure that the phone number has accepted the invitation.
Click on the contact you want to track. Google Maps will then automatically search for and display the person’s location.
Tracking a phone number using GPS:
Open the Google Maps application on the targeted phone:
Click the menu button.
Select the location menu, then go to the share location page and click start.
There are options for the sharing duration, such as ‘For 1 hour’ or ‘Until deactivated’. Click More.
Enter your number or email that you want to use to track the target phone. Click send Email.
Open the Gmail application via PC or laptop:
Log in to the email account of the targeted phone.
Click the nine-dot icon. Next, click the Account menu.
Go to Google and navigate to My Activity.
Click Manage Activity.
How to track a phone using Geofind:
Go to the Geofind website.
Select the country and enter the phone number to be tracked.
Enter your email and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Enter your credit card number and complete the required data.

Tracking a number via mobile operators:
Telkomsel: Open the call menu and dial *250#. A display will appear showing ‘View/Edit friend list’. Enter the phone number whose location you want to check. Alternatively, you can send an SMS to 5200 with the format ‘Teman Nama Nomor’.
Indosat: Dial 7776*6# and select the family location menu. You can also send an SMS to 9111 with the format ‘CARI NoHP’.
XL: Dial the code 123573*1# and select the Family Location menu. You can also send an SMS to 9111 with the format ‘CARI NoHP’.
