How to tie the 'jilbab' properly
How to tie the 'jilbab' properly
Square jilbab
* Fold fabric in a triangle
* Place scarf over your hair
* Leave one side longer than the other side -- this will give you
coverage over the chest area
* Pin your scarf at the chin
* Alternately, bring one side of the scarf and pull it under
your chin, then over the side of your face, framing it
* Pin your scarf at the top of your head
* This style offers coverage of the chin, and drapes nicely over
your chest and frames the face
Wrap jilbab
* Use an underscarf if you would like
* Place wrap jilbab over your hair, leaving one side longer than
the other
* Pin at the base of your chin comfortably
* Pull the longer side of the jilbab under and over your chin, so
the wrap frames your face delicately
* Pin with your favorite jilbab pin at the top of your head or
use a straight pin
* Use your favorite decorative underscarf or another scarf
underneath for decoration, and follow the directions above
* Then, instead of pinning at the top of your head, pull the wrap
jilbab over your shoulder and pin
Twist turban wrap
* Place wrap jilbab over your hair, leaving one side longer than
the other
* Pin at the nape of the neck or simply hold firm, and twist the
fabric
* Take one side and bring up
* Then bring the other hanging fabric and bring up
* Tuck loose fabric inside of bun of fabric; there is no need to
pin, it should hold in place
* Wrap another headscarf over your twist wrap
