Members of the public wishing to witness in person the ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace on 17 August 2026 need to prepare several things early in order to register online.
The registration tickets opened by the government usually come with a limited quota through designated official services.
Each year, the independence commemoration ceremony at Merdeka Palace is one of the most sought-after events among the public. The high level of enthusiasm means the registration process is often referred to as a “ticket war”, as the available quota can run out within a short time.
As of now, the government has not yet announced the official schedule for opening registration for participants of the 2026 Indonesian Independence Day ceremony. Identity Card (KTP).
Population Identification Number (NIK).

General requirements for participants
Although the official requirements for the 2026 Independence Day have not yet been announced, in previous editions participants were required to be Indonesian citizens (WNI), to fill in registration data correctly, to bring original identity documents when attending, and to comply with the applicable dress code and security procedures.
Members of the public are also urged to be wary of parties offering tickets or entry access in exchange for payment. Participation in the ceremony at the Palace can only be obtained through official mechanisms set by the government.
