The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has explained the requirements and registration process for vocational training for workers affected by redundancies, from preparing documents to the participant selection stages.

Darmawansyah, director-general for vocational training and productivity development at the ministry, said vocational training was one way to help workers made redundant improve their skills so they could re-enter the labour market or start their own businesses.

“Vocational training is a strategic step to improve or transfer skills, strengthen competitiveness, and open up access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” Darmawansyah said in an official statement quoted on Saturday (24 October 2026).

The programme prioritises workers made redundant between 2024 and 2026. Applicants need to prepare supporting documents proving their redundancy, such as a redundancy notification, a contract termination letter or a certificate of employment (paklaring).

If such documents cannot be provided because of particular circumstances, applicants must submit a self-declaration stating that they have stopped working or been made redundant. The declaration must be prepared and signed by the applicant and bear a duty stamp.

Individuals can apply through the ministry’s official SkillHub portal at https://skillhub.kemnaker.go.id. Applicants must first create a SIAPkerja account, then enter their details and upload the required documents, including their identity card and proof of redundancy—or a declaration in its place, in accordance with the rules.

Training providers will then verify applications and conduct interviews as part of the selection process. Successful applicants must re-register through the SkillHub portal before beginning training.

Applications can also be submitted in groups by companies, trade unions, industry associations or local manpower offices to vocational training and productivity technical implementation units (UPTs).
