How to Register for the 'Istana for Schoolchildren' Programme
The ‘Istana untuk Anak Sekolah’ (Istana for Schoolchildren) programme is an educational initiative that provides students with the opportunity to become more familiar with the Presidential Palace and understand Indonesia’s system of governance. Through this programme, students from across Indonesia have the chance to learn directly within the Palace environment.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of State Secretariat, the programme follows a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to open a broader learning space for the nation’s future generations, aimed at building character, fostering national insight, and encouraging high aspirations grounded in love for the homeland. The programme complements other government initiatives in the education sector.
Through discussions, Q&A sessions, and tours of various corners and rooms of the Presidential Palace, participants are invited to learn about the nation’s history, understand concepts of governance, and see first-hand important and historically significant sites involved in the administration of the state.
Launched on 7 April 2026, the Istana for Schoolchildren programme has been attended by approximately 5,000 junior high and senior high/vocational school students, coming not only from Jakarta but also from various other regions across the country.
