How to Register for the 2026 Indonesia Berkiblat Movement and Get a Certificate

The Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) is inviting the public to join the Gerakan Nasional Indonesia Berkiblat. This activity is held to utilise the momentum of Rashdul Qiblat or Istiwa A’zam on 15 and 16 July 2026. Through this movement, the public can independently verify the Qibla direction by using the astronomical phenomenon that occurs twice a year. The programme is open to the general public, mosque and musala administrators, Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) staff, schools, and various other institutions. Participants can also register their observation locations through the official portal provided by Kemenag. The observation is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 July 2026, and Thursday, 16 July 2026, at 16:27 WIB or 17:27 WITA. During this time, the sun will be exactly above the Kaaba, and the shadow of any perfectly vertical object will point precisely towards the Qibla. To participate, the public must create an account on the official portal at indonesiaberkiblat.kemenag.dev. After conducting the observation, participants can upload their documentation to a Google Drive link and submit it via the portal to receive an e-certificate. The Ministry explained that this method is a practical approach in astronomy for verifying the Qibla direction, and it can be utilised by anyone in a region receiving sunlight during the specified time.
