KIP Kuliah targets not only students at public universities (PTN) but also those at private universities (PTS). This assistance is available to students admitted through the SNBP, SNBT, or independent pathways.

Requirements for KIP Kuliah Independent Pathway 2026

Broadly, there are two sets of requirements applicants must meet: general and economic. The details are as follows:

General Requirements

  • Graduates of SMA, SMK, or equivalent who graduated in the current year or a maximum of two years prior.

  • Passed the new student admissions selection through any pathway at an academic or vocational higher education institution, either PTN or PTS, in an accredited study programme registered in the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education system.

  • Have economic limitations or come from a poor/vulnerable family, substantiated by valid documentation.

Economic Requirements

  • Holders of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) for Secondary Education registered in the DTSEN at a maximum of decile 4 and who passed the SNBP or SNBT.

  • Holders of the KIP for Secondary Education registered in the DTSEN at a maximum of decile 4 and who passed the independent pathway at a PTN or PTS.

  • Meet the requirements, evidenced by proof of combined gross parental/guardian income per month below the provincial minimum wage (UMP) of the domicile of origin and proof of poor family status in the form of a Certificate of Indigence (SKTM).

How to Register for KIP Kuliah Independent Pathway 2026

Applicants for the KIP Kuliah independent pathway 2026 can register via the website https://kip-kuliah.kemdiktisaintek.go.id/. The procedure is as follows:

  • Create an account independently on the website https://kip-kuliah.kemdiktisaintek.go.id/.

  • Enter your NIK, NISN, NPSN, and an active email address during registration.

  • Wait for the system to validate the NIK, NISN, and NPSN.

  • Once validated, you will receive a registration number and access code via email.

  • Reopen the KIP Kuliah website and enter the registration number and access code.

  • Select the appropriate selection process. In this case, choose the independent pathway.

  • If accepted by the intended higher education institution, the recipient’s name will be proposed to Kemdiktisaintek as a KIP Kuliah recipient.

KIP Kuliah Independent Pathway 2026 Amounts

Recipients of the KIP Kuliah independent pathway 2026 are entitled to have their study costs covered until graduation. This means the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) or Education Development Contribution (SPP) is borne by the state.

Additionally, recipients are entitled to a living allowance, the amount of which varies by region. These funds are transferred directly to the recipient’s account as a net amount with no deductions whatsoever, disbursed every six months.

For the living allowance, Kemdiktisaintek has established the following five clusters of monthly amounts:

  • Medical doctor: Maximum 4 semesters

  • Dentist: Maximum 4 semesters

  • Veterinarian: Maximum 4 semesters

  • Nurse: Maximum 2 semesters

  • Pharmacist: Maximum 2 semesters

  • Midwife: Maximum 2 semesters

  • Psychologist: Maximum 2 semesters

  • Physiotherapist: Maximum 2 semesters
