How to Create Your Own App on an Android Phone for Free, Without Coding

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are making people’s work easier. One example is the ability to create mobile applications without going through complicated coding or programming processes.

This is now possible through Google AI Studio. The US technology giant has announced that users with standard Google accounts can design apps themselves directly for their devices.

The apps created using this feature are private and intended for the user’s own devices. They will not be released publicly on the Google Play Store.

This new method differs from the conventional approach, under which app creation was available only to professional developer accounts and required USB debugging connected directly to a computer or PC.

With this new tool, app creators can install their apps directly on their personal devices and even share them with people close to them, without going through the process of publicly registering them on the Play Store.

The app creation process is also free. Citing ZDNET on Wednesday (14 October 2026), here are the steps for creating an app through Google AI Studio:

• Visit the Google AI Studio platform.

• Sign in with your personal Google account.

• Write a prompt or describe the kind of app you want to create.

• As development begins, you can add any extra capabilities or features you want.

• Once the process is complete, you can make further adjustments or fine-tune the app.

• If the final result is still not what you hoped for, you can delete the app and start again from scratch.
