How to Check Ministry of Social Affairs Decile Status Using NIK via Mobile Phone

The method for checking decile status is being widely sought by members of the public wishing to understand their socio-economic standing within the government’s social assistance system. Checking social assistance deciles can now be performed online via mobile phone using the NIK from one’s identity card (KTP). Citizens no longer need to visit village offices or social affairs departments to determine whether they fall into the category of social assistance recipients.

Through the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), the government has provided a digital service that can be accessed at any time to facilitate independent checking of social assistance status. Once the process is complete, the system will display information regarding social assistance recipients, the types of assistance received, and the specific decile group within the DTSEN (National Single Social and Economic Data).

The lower an individual’s decile number, the lower their economic condition is assessed to be, making them a priority for government social assistance. This data is sourced from the DTSEN managed by the Ministry of Social and is integrated with data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The government conducts periodic data updates to ensure that the distribution of social assistance is more accurately targeted. Decile groups serve as one of the primary references for the government in determining social assistance recipients. Meanwhile, individuals with a status above decile 5 are generally not prioritised for social assistance, as they are considered to be in a better economic position.
