JAKARTA - The public can now check the accuracy of land certificate data more easily without having to visit the Land Office (Kantah).

Through the digital service from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), the verification process can be done using just a mobile phone.

Head of Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Shamy Ardian, stated that the public can utilise the Sentuh Tanahku application to access the service.

After that, various features within the app can be used, including checking the accuracy of land certificate data.

For analogue certificates, owners can share information with other parties by entering an email address and determining the access duration.

The displayed information includes the Plot Identification Number (NIB), certificate type, blank code, issuance date, land location and area, up to the owner’s identity.

Meanwhile, for electronic certificates, owners can share the barcode printed on the document.

Once scanned, the certificate data will immediately appear completely on the phone, provided that the scanning party also has a verified account in the app.

Shamy added that this convenience is expected to encourage the public to be more active in ensuring the validity of the land documents they own.

However, if the land plot data is not found in the app, the public need not worry.

This can occur because the data has not yet been mapped in the digital system.

For that reason, the public is advised to visit the local Land Office to carry out data updates so that the certificate information can be integrated and readable in the system.
