How to Check if Your ID Card is Being Used for Online Loans
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Cases of personal data misuse are increasingly common, including the use of ID numbers from ID cards without permission to apply for online loans (pinjol). Without realising it, someone could suddenly be recorded as having debt simply because their data has leaked and been exploited by others.
This situation is certainly detrimental, especially if the victim only finds out when they are chased for payment or when applying for other credit. Therefore, it is important for the public to regularly check whether their data has been used in certain financial services.
One method that can be done is through the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) owned by the Financial Services Authority. Through this service, the public can view their credit history, including the possibility of online loans in their name. Checks can be conducted online or offline.
Here are the detailed steps for the check:
For checking an ID card through OJK’s SLIK online is quite easy; you only need to prepare supporting documents such as an ID card, a photo of yourself, and a photo of yourself with the ID card.
