How to Check Electricity Usage via the PLN Mobile Application
PT PLN (Persero) has ensured that there will be no increase in electricity tariffs for June 2026. This statement comes in response to social media complaints regarding electricity bills that have reportedly surged significantly in recent times.
Gregorius Adi Trianto, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and CSR at PLN, stated that electricity tariffs for the April-June 2026 period continue to adhere to the regulations set by the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
“PLN always implements electricity tariff policies as determined by the Government through the Ministry of ESDM. For the April-June 2026 period, electricity tariffs remain stable and have not undergone any changes from the previous period,” said Adi, as quoted in a written statement on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Previously, a social media post highlighted a customer’s electricity bill for an R2/4,200 VA power capacity, which rose from Rp2,241,550 to Rp3,326,769 in the subsequent period. The post triggered public questioning regarding a potential tariff hike.
Responding to this, Adi explained that an increase in bills is not always caused by changes in tariffs. According to him, electricity bills may increase due to changes in customers’ electricity consumption patterns. He noted several factors that can influence electricity consumption, including weather conditions, rising air temperatures, and increased household activities that lead to more intensive use of electronic appliances.
To assist customers in monitoring their electricity usage, PLN encourages the public to utilise the PLN Mobile application. Through the app, customers can view their electricity usage history, purchase tokens, and pay bills, allowing them to manage electricity consumption more efficiently.
Here is how to check electricity usage history via the PLN Mobile application:
Open the PLN Mobile application.
Select the “Token and Payment” menu on the main page.
Click “Add Customer ID” if the ID is not yet registered.
Enter the Customer ID.
Select the “Usage History” menu for postpaid customers or “Token Purchase History” for prepaid customers.
PLN also reminds customers to use electricity safely and wisely, including by checking electrical installations periodically and unplugging electronic devices when not in use to control energy consumption.
Electricity Tariffs for June 2026 Remain Unchanged
Previously, the Ministry of ESDM determined that electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 (April-June) would not experience an increase. The government maintained the tariffs to preserve public purchasing power.
“The public does not need to be anxious because the electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 remain fixed. This determination was made to maintain public purchasing power ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, following calculations of various macro-economic parameters,” said the Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of ESDM, Tri Winarno.
