How to Check DTSEN Decile Using NIK: Meaning of Groups 1 to 10 for Social Assistance
The government has begun implementing a national decile system to determine targets for social assistance recipients from 2025 through the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN).
A decile is a welfare ranking group for families recorded in DTSEN. The data is used by the government as one of the bases for determining targets for social assistance recipients in Indonesia.
In DTSEN, families in Indonesia are divided into 10 decile groups. Each decile represents 10 percent of families based on their welfare level.
Decile 1 is the group with the lowest welfare level. Meanwhile, decile 10 is the group with the highest welfare level.
The decile position of each family is not fixed. Decile data is dynamic and can change according to the latest economic conditions.
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) updates the data periodically based on survey results, updates carried out by regional governments, ground checks by the Ministry of Social Affairs, and proposals submitted by the public.
Therefore, a person’s decile position can change if there are changes in the economic conditions that form the basis for data updating.
How to Check DTSEN Decile Using NIK
The public can check the decile position recorded in DTSEN using their National Identity Number (NIK). The check is carried out through the official DTSEN page.
The following are the steps to check the DTSEN decile:
Open the DTSEN page at https://dtsen-form.bps.go.id/.
Select the “Lainnya” (Others) menu.
Enter the NIK and the available captcha code.
Click “Cek Data” (Check Data).
If the NIK is registered, the system will display a notification that the NIK was found in the DTSEN database.
Next, click “Cek Desil” (Check Decile).
Enter the date of birth and captcha code.
Click “Cek Data” (Check Data).
The system will then display information about the decile held.
The public can use this information to find out the welfare group position recorded in the DTSEN database.
If the data displayed does not match actual conditions, the system also provides a “Pembaruan Data” (Data Update) option. The public can follow the update process in accordance with the provisions available in the system.
Meaning of Deciles 1 to 10
The ten decile groups in DTSEN indicate the welfare level of families, ranging from the group with the lowest welfare level to the group with the highest welfare level.
