How to Activate Rollover on Telkomsel, XL, and Indosat Internet Packages

A number of mobile operators in Indonesia have provided internet packages with a rollover feature, following a Constitutional Court (MK) ruling that internet quota must not be forfeited. The ruling, Number 273/PUU-XXIII/2025, stipulates that purchased internet quota can be used until it runs out without additional charges. The court also provided several options for operators to prevent quota from expiring, such as accumulation or rollover, extension of the active period, transfer of benefits, compensation, refunds, and other forms of consumer protection.

Here is a guide to activating internet packages with a rollover feature on Telkomsel, XL, and Indosat.

Telkomsel

Telkomsel customers can enjoy the rollover feature on certain internet packages through the MyTelkomsel application. To activate it, open the MyTelkomsel app, select the internet package purchase menu, and look for a package that includes a ‘Rollover Kuota’ or ‘Kuota Berlanjut’ description. After purchasing the package, ensure you buy another qualifying package before the active period ends so the remaining quota is carried over to the next period. Note that not all Telkomsel packages support the rollover feature, and the validity period and amount of quota that can be carried over follow the terms of the selected package.

XL Axiata

For XL users, the rollover feature can be activated on specific internet packages via the myXL application. Open the myXL app, select an internet package that offers the rollover feature, and activate it. To carry over the remaining quota, you must renew the package according to the terms before the active period expires. The available Xtra Combo Flex packages with rollover include various options, such as the Xtra Combo Flex S for Rp29,000 with 5 GB main quota and up to 3 GB area quota, and the Xtra Combo Flex XXL for Rp140,000 with 65 GB main quota and up to 25 GB area quota.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison

Indosat, through its IM3 brand, provides a rollover feature on selected internet packages accessible via the myIM3 application. To use it, log in to the myIM3 app, go to the internet package purchase menu, and find a package that lists the rollover facility. Activate the package and ensure you renew or repurchase according to the terms before the active period ends so the remaining quota is carried over. The terms for rollover may differ for each package, so customers are advised to read the benefit details before purchasing. Available Freedom Combo packages with data rollover include a 4 GB main quota and 2 GB night quota for Rp38,000, up to a 23 GB main quota and 7 GB night quota for Rp105,000.
