How to access the five volumes of the History of Indonesia books

The Ministry of Culture has officially launched five volumes of the book “Sejarah Indonesia: Dinamika Kebangsaan dalam Arus Global” on Monday.

To ensure broad public access across Indonesia, the government has made digital versions available through the website pustakabudaya.id.

“As a commitment to equalising access to knowledge, all books launched today can be downloaded free of charge by the wider public through pustakabudaya.id,” said Minister of Culture Fadli Zon during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

Secondly, users must first create an account in order to log in, borrow and download digital books, and complete their details including name, email address, password and password confirmation.

Thirdly, once the account has been verified, users will return to the home screen, then select the desired volume to read and borrow it.

If the book is successfully borrowed, the selected book will appear in the active loans section.

Finally, readers can read the digital version directly with a watermark (web-based) or save a copy in PDF format by downloading it.

In addition, one factbook volume accompanies the series as a companion to help readers explore a range of important facts and information.

The five books launched in the first period are volume one, entitled “Akar Peradaban Nusantara”; volume two, “Nusantara dalam Jaringan Global: Perjumpaan Budaya dengan India, Tiongkok dan Persia”; and volume three, “Nusantara Dalam Jaringan Global: Timur Tengah”.

These digital books are expected to reach school pupils, university students, teachers, lecturers, researchers and the wider public across various regions of Indonesia. Therefore, providing a digital version is a strategic step to ensure the availability of public access to these works on Indonesian history.
