The Bogor City Government (Pemkot Bogor) is preparing sanctions if civil servants (ASN) engage in working from cafes (work from cafe/WFC) during the work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday. Sanctions at the lowest level will take the form of verbal reprimands.

“For all types of violations, there are levels of sanctions, starting with verbal reprimands,” said Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim to reporters on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Dedie explained that sanctions could go beyond just verbal reprimands. Pemkot Bogor, he said, is also preparing sanctions that will impact promotions or rank advancements.

“If it’s any level of punishment, it usually affects promotions or rank advancements,” he stated.

Dedie explained that his side will regulate connections with work units once a day through Geotagging Zoom. Later, he said, this will be done three times in one day.

This method is being implemented by Pemkot Bogor to prevent ASN from misusing the weekly one-day WFH policy for efficiency purposes as directed by the central government.

“We regulate connections three times a day with work units through Geotagging Zoom, a kind of location-based service application,” he said.

ASN in DKI If WFC Will Face Sanctions

As is known, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) is preparing regulations for ASN ahead of the implementation of work from home or WFH every Friday. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that ASN caught at cafes or hangout spots during WFH status will face sanctions.

“Regarding work from cafe or anywhere, if that happens, there will definitely be firm sanction actions for it,” said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4).

Pramono said that WFH on Fridays is a mandatory central government policy. However, not all ASN will carry out WFH.

He mentioned that middle-level officials, entry-level officials, and public service personnel, such as Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, Health Agency, and Fire Department, will continue working as usual.
