How Regent Jeje Absorbs Community Issues in West Bandung Villages
The Regent of West Bandung, Jeje Ritchie Ismail, has a unique method for absorbing community issues at the village level. Known as ‘Sapoe Sades0e1desa’, the programme has been implemented since he began his leadership in West Bandung Regency.
Through this programme, Jeje visits villages directly to meet with village heads and residents. The objective is to gather aspirations, seek collective solutions, and strengthen communication with regional authorities.
“Through Sapoe Sades0e1desa, I can meet village heads directly and observe field conditions. This is vital so that we can align our steps in developing West Bandung,” said Jeje after attending the IV Branch Meeting of the DPC Apdesi Merah Putih West Bandung Regency, last Wednesday (9/9/2026).
Jeje stated that through these village visits, he continues to build communication with village heads while conveying the local government’s commitment to the joint development of West Bandung Regency.
He believes that villages organised under the Association of All Indonesian Village Governments (APDESI) play a crucial role in the development of West Bandung. “Apdesi is a vital part of West Bandung’s development; the progress we achieve must ultimately culminate in and be directly felt by the people in the villages,” Jeje remarked.
He emphasised that the regional government and village governments must share the same goals, particularly in providing services and delivering the benefits of development to the community. “I always convey to the village heads that we must have the same objective, which is to build West Bandung Regency and provide the best services and benefits for the people,” he added.
According to him, the relationship established with village heads has remained strong. This closeness is considered an essential asset for strengthening coordination in executing various development programmes.
“I feel that the relationship with Apdesi and the village heads is very close. Therefore, we must continue to maintain this communication and togetherness,” he said.
He expressed hope that the synergy between the West Bandung Regency Government, Apdesi, and all village heads can be further strengthened to support development at both the village and regency levels. “Maintain unity and togetherness. Ultimately, we all share the same goal, which is to make West Bandung better,” he stated.
On that occasion, Jeje also expressed his appreciation to the management of the DPC APDESI Merah Putih West Bandung Regency for the 2021-2026 period for having fulfilled their organisational mandate. “I express my appreciation and gratitude to all members of the 2021-2026 management who have carried out their organisational duties and responsibilities to the best of their ability,” Jeje concluded.
