PT PLN (Persero) has assured the readiness of electric vehicle infrastructure along East Java’s main routes to serve Lebaran 2026 holiday travellers using electric vehicles to and from the region.

Adi Priyanto, Director of Retail and Commerce at PLN, along with officials from the Retail and Commerce Directorate, conducted direct inspections of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) along the Surabaya to Banyuwangi corridor. At each SPKLU visited, he greeted customers charging their vehicle batteries, engaged in dialogue with them, and encouraged PLN staff on duty.

The East Java corridor is an important route for electric vehicle users continuing their journey towards Bali. Therefore, inspections were carried out at several strategic points that frequently serve as stopping locations for electric vehicle users. The inspection journey began from the South Surabaya UP3 Center SPKLU, one of the electric vehicle charging facilities that forms part of PLN’s SPKLU Center development.

Ahmad Mustaqir, General Manager of PLN’s East Java Distribution Main Unit (UID), explained that East Java plays an important role in the electric vehicle ecosystem on the island of Java. He stated that PLN UID East Java has prepared hundreds of electric vehicle charging facilities at various strategic points.

“In East Java, approximately 297 SPKLU units are currently available across 158 locations, including along the Trans Java corridor which is the main travel route for the public,” said Ahmad, as cited on Friday, 13 February 2026.

Beyond providing charging facilities, PLN continues to develop the SPKLU Center concept—an electric vehicle charging facility equipped with rest areas for users. “Electric vehicle users charging their batteries can rest for a while whilst enjoying available facilities, making the charging experience more comfortable,” he added.

From inspections at several locations, Adi also assessed that service standards at SPKLU points in East Java are operating well. PLN staff are on standby 24 hours to assist customers requiring information or experiencing difficulties during charging.
