How Much Wealth Did Suahasil Have Before Becoming Finance Minister?

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Suahasil Nazara had total assets of Rp138.17 billion (US$8.5 million) before officially taking office as Indonesia’s finance minister on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The figure was based on Suahasil’s 2025 State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN), which he submitted to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on February 27, 2026.

According to the KPK’s official LHKPN database, accessed in Jakarta on Monday, Suahasil owns eight plots of land and properties, five in South Jakarta, two in Central Jakarta, and one in Depok, West Java. The properties have a combined value of Rp49.86 billion.

The largest property is a 1,980-square-meter plot of land in Depok, valued at Rp4.97 billion.

Suahasil also owns four cars: a 2013 Toyota Camry, a 2019 Honda Jazz, a 2022 Honda HR-V, and a 2019 Toyota Alphard. The four vehicles are valued at a combined Rp1.23 billion.

His other movable assets are valued at Rp9.08 billion, while securities are worth Rp66.88 billion. He also reported Rp6.04 billion in cash and cash equivalents and other assets valued at Rp5.12 billion.

Suahasil reported liabilities of Rp33.99 million.

His total assets before liabilities stood at Rp138.20 billion. After deducting his liabilities, his net wealth was Rp138.17 billion, according to his 2025 LHKPN.

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Suahasil as finance minister on Monday, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

Suahasil’s appointment was stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 97P/2026 on the Dismissal and Appointment of the Finance Minister for the Remainder of the 2024-2029 Cabinet’s Term. Prabowo signed the decree on September 14, 2026.
