Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) has revealed the progress of physical construction of Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (KDMP) up to the end of March 2026. Zulhas stated that 3,505 KDMP have been fully built in 83,764 villages across Indonesia, while 25,121 sites are still under construction. “We report that there are already 3,505 sites that are 100% complete in building the village cooperatives, while 25,121 sites are still in the process of being built; we hope this continues to increase,” said Zulhas during a press conference after the limited coordination meeting on KDMP development, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Additionally, Zulhas explained that the number of sites ready for KDMP construction is steadily increasing, with 33,168 sites now prepared. He hopes that the number of ready sites will continue to grow. “Well, the ready land is increasing continuously. Now it’s 33,168 sites; hopefully by June 2026, the ready land can reach 40,000,” he continued. Once the number of ready sites reaches 40,000, his side will conduct an evaluation and re-data collection. This is because some villages or urban wards do not have land as large as 1,000 square metres. “After reaching 40,000, we will re-data everything. Because there are also places where the land is not up to 1,000 square metres, for example in urban wards, in big cities the land is not up to 1,000 square metres, some are 500 square metres to 700 square metres,” he explained. For KDMP sites with limited land, they will build using a vertical model. “If the land is less than 1,000 square metres, then we will build the model, perhaps going upwards or something like that,” he said.
