When is Eid al-Adha 2026?
Until now, the government has not issued an official announcement regarding the date of Eid al-Adha 2026. This is because the date of Eid al-Adha is still awaiting the results of the isbat session to determine the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, which considers the results of hisab calculations and rukyat al-hilal.
Although there is no official decision yet, the Indonesian Hijriah Calendar 2026 issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs estimates that Eid al-Adha 1447 H will fall on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. This is also in line with the estimated date for Eid al-Adha 1447 H by Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). NU also uses hisab and hilal calculations to determine Eid al-Adha.
On the other hand, Muhammadiyah has already set the date for Eid al-Adha through an official decree. In the Decree of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Number 2/MLM/1.0/E/2025 on the Determination of Hisab Results for Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 Hijriah, Eid al-Adha falls on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
How Many Days is the Eid al-Adha Holiday in 2026?
The government has set the schedule for national holidays and collective leave for the Eid al-Adha 2026 celebration through the Joint Decree (SKB) of 3 Ministers.
