This year, Eid al-Fitr 2026 falls on 21 March according to the government’s prediction via the 2026 Hijriah Calendar issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and the Joint Decree of Three Ministers on National Holidays and Joint Leaves for 2026.

Sunday, 22 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah
Monday, 23 March 2026: Joint leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah
Tuesday, 24 March 2026: Joint leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah
Thus, the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2026 runs until Tuesday, 24 March.
Work-from-Anywhere Still Available After Eid Holiday

When Do Children Return to School After Eid Holiday?
Schoolchildren are on holiday until 27 March 2026. This was conveyed by the Ministry of Education, Primary and Secondary Education through the Joint Circular Letter of the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. 5 of 2026, No. 2 of 2026, and No. 400.1/857/SJ on Learning during the Month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah/2026 AD.
“On 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 March 2026 as well as 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026, these constitute joint holidays for Eid al-Fitr for schools/madrasahs/early childhood education units/religious education units. During the Eid al-Fitr holiday, pupils are expected to engage in silaturahmi with family and community to enhance brotherhood and unity,” states point four of the circular.
Children return to school on Monday, 30 March 2026.
