Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - DataOn, a provider of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) solutions, is currently building software that is entirely based on artificial intelligence (AI) to improve company HR operations.

CEO of DataOn Indonesia, Gordon Enns, stated that AI is truly pushing software to the next level. Moreover, AI enables software to become a decision-making engine for businesses.

“So, it becomes a partner for our executives, and is in our company, and helps them build models and make decisions with technology,” Enns explained at the CNBC Indonesia Tech & Telco Forum 2026 on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

He detailed that what DataOn is currently building differs from a few years ago, which basically integrated large language models and used AI for various tools.

According to him, DataOn is now redeveloping a new version of the software and enhancing it so that AI is fully integrated into every function.

“Whether it’s AI-based payroll management run by an AI payroll engine, which can dynamically understand your payroll model, provide recommendations on how to improve employee compensation methods, or the ability to access all documents and use a data import system to access all information, all your HR records in one place, and improve your compliance level,” Enns revealed.

For context, DataOn has been an Indonesian software company since 1999. DataOn’s product, Sunfish HR, is widely used throughout Indonesia, with thousands of customers covering more than one million employees for human resources management software in Indonesia.

According to him, the use of AI, including to improve HR performance, is something that cannot be ignored. Especially based on statistical data, essentially nearly 100% of business leaders have goals around digital initiatives, digital ambitions, and understand that they need to rethink business strategies given the impact of AI.

“However, of course, everything depends on the needs in using AI. For the HR department, this can help in facing the future in terms of organisational levels,” Enns concluded.
