How IPB University Prevents Cheating in the 2026 UTBK

Bogor Agricultural Institute University states that it has prepared measures to mitigate cheating in the computer-based written examination (UTBK) to be held from 21 to 30 April 2026. Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs at IPB University, Deni Noviana, said that this anticipation is a priority for the educational unit.

“IPB consistently coordinates with the Central Committee for National Selection of New Student Admissions and implements all nationally established supervision procedures,” Deni said in a written statement on the IPB University website on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

The supervision procedures include checking participants before entering the examination room, monitoring during the exam, and actions after indications of cheating are found. Deni claims that all exam supervisors are equipped with understanding and sensitivity to detect dishonest attempts.

IPB University has prepared 945 computers for each examination session. In one day, they claim to be able to accommodate up to 1,890 exam participants. “As one of the 2026 UTBK Centres, IPB University is currently in a very ready condition,” he said.

This year, IPB University provides 2,481 seats for prospective students following the SNBT pathway. The examination locations are at the Dramaga Campus and the Vocational Campus in Cilibende, Bogor, West Java. Deni said that both locations have been optimally prepared, equipped with facilities such as parking areas, vehicle circulation, and traffic.

IPB University, he said, also prepares automatic backup generators ready to operate if the campus electricity supply experiences disruptions. There are also spare computers that can replace damaged devices at any time during the exam.

“All these technical preparations are carried out with a structured approach so that every obstacle can be handled quickly and does not disrupt the participants’ experience,” he said.

Furthermore, Deni claims that the campus has ensured the availability of inclusive facilities and access for participants with disabilities. However, he did not detail what facilities are meant.

In addition, IPB University also provides campus buses that can be used by participants and their escorts. At every examination point, Deni said, the security team will be on standby to ensure order and security of the examination process.
