How Former Israeli Mossad Elite Move from Intelligence to Security and Technology Firms

An American defence industry company announced on Monday the appointment of former Mossad chief David Barnea as its Global President. The appointment comes after Barnea left his post in June and was replaced by Roman Gofman, the former military secretary to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Barnea’s appointment is the latest example of former Mossad chiefs moving into global institutions in the finance, technology, and security and military sectors. Similar moves were previously made by Tamir Pardo and Yossi Cohen, two other former Mossad chiefs, along with a number of senior officers and veterans of the intelligence agency. The American parent company, Ondas Holdings, which operates in the defence industry, stated that Barnea will play a key role in leading the company’s global expansion, formulating technology development strategies, and coordinating the integration of the company’s businesses across various regions. According to Eric Brock, CEO of Ondas, Barnea possesses a rare combination of operational experience, strategic vision, technological leadership, and an extensive network of international relationships. In the corporate world, the CEO is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational leadership of the company. Meanwhile, the Global President typically focuses on formulating international strategy and managing the company’s relationships with various partners and governments at the global level.
