How Former Israeli Mossad Elite Move from Intelligence to Security and Technology Firms

TEL AVIV — An American defence industry company announced on Monday the appointment of former Mossad chief David Barnea as its Global President.

The appointment came after Barnea left his post in June and was replaced by Roman Gofman, former military secretary to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Barnea’s appointment is the latest example of former Mossad chiefs moving on to various global institutions in the finance, technology, security and military sectors.

Previously, similar steps were taken by Tamir Pardo and Yossi Cohen, two other former Mossad chiefs, along with a number of senior officers and veterans of the intelligence agency.

Ondas Holdings, the American parent company operating in the defence industry, stated that Barnea will play an important role in leading the company’s global expansion, formulating technology development strategy, and coordinating the company’s business integration across various regions.

According to Eric Brock, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ondas, Barnea possesses a rare combination of operational experience, strategic vision, technological leadership and an extensive network of international relationships.

In the corporate world, the CEO is responsible for managing and leading the company’s day-to-day operations.

The Global President, meanwhile, typically focuses on formulating international strategy and managing the company’s relationships with various partners and governments at the global level.
