How Businesses Are Tackling Rupiah Volatility and Soaring Logistics Costs
Global geopolitical turmoil, which has caused supply chain disruptions, rising fuel prices, and the depreciation of the Rupiah, is impacting the national logistics industry. President Director of PT Lookman Djaja Logistics, Kyatmaja Lookman, stated that the Rupiah’s depreciation significantly affects increases in costs and spare part prices. Facing this situation, Lookman Djaja Logistics, a land transportation expedition company providing efficient and reliable logistics services including parcels, cargo, and truck rental, is implementing several strategies. One of them is maximising existing assets, holding off on purchasing new trucks, and reducing operational expenses. On the other hand, economic pressures on customers make it difficult for logistics businesses to raise shipping costs, forcing companies to improve efficiency.
