BINTARO, KOMPAS.com - The issue of range anxiety, or concerns about travel distance, remains one of the main obstacles for the public in switching to electric motorcycles.

In response to this, ALVA is aggressively strengthening the charging ecosystem in various regions.

ALVA’s Chief Executive Officer, Purbaya Pantja, stated that the company’s current focus is to position electric motorcycles as the primary transport solution, rather than just vehicles for short distances or weekend hobbies.

To support this, charging station infrastructure is key. Purbaya revealed that ALVA currently has around 200 connector units spread across the Java-Bali region, and is beginning to expand into Sumatra and Kalimantan.

Interestingly, the placement of these charging points is not limited to official ALVA outlets. The company collaborates with various parties to align with consumers’ lifestyles.

This strategy enables users to charge efficiently while engaging in other activities (multitasking). For example, a 15-minute charge while shopping is sufficient to add significant power.

One proof of ALVA’s seriousness is the presence of ALVA Studio in Bintaro, which is one of the largest charging points with up to 21 connectors.

Moreover, this infrastructure was tested during last Eid’s homecoming period. ALVA successfully connected routes such as Jakarta-Bandung via Puncak, the Semarang-Solo-Yogyakarta triangle, and Surabaya-Malang.

“This means electric motorcycles can already be used for inter-city travel because the infrastructure is in place,” he said.
