How a Boy from Bojonggede 'Snuck' into a Boot, Startling an Online Taxi Driver

A young boy caused a shock when he was found to have ‘snuck’ into and hidden in the boot of an online taxi in Bojonggede, Bogor Regency. The child was discovered in the boot while the online taxi driver was transporting a passenger to Tajurhalang.

‘Initially, the online taxi driver picked up a passenger at Bojonggede Terminal. Then, midway through the journey, this child appeared, and everyone was shocked, both the passenger and the driver, wondering why there was a small child in the back,’ said Tajurhalang Police Chief Iptu Raden Suwito when contacted on Monday (3/8/2026).

The online taxi driver, not wanting to be accused of kidnapping the child, followed the passenger’s suggestion to take the child to the police. The child was briefly taken back to the initial pick-up point at Bojonggede Terminal to ask local residents about his identity.

‘Thankfully, the vehicle owner and the passenger acted quickly by immediately contacting and coordinating with the police. We followed up and eventually took him to his parents’ or grandparents’ home,’ Suwito said.

Suwito stated that the viral boy who sneaked into the car had been handed over to the neighbourhood unit (RT) where his grandfather lives in Bojonggede. Suwito urged parents to remain vigilant and look after their children, especially when they are outside the home.

‘This child was escorted by Mr Lili (Pawas of Tajur Halang Police) to his residence, but it turned out no one was home. So, this child is a victim of his parents’ disharmony and lives with his grandparents. He was handed over and accepted by the RT, who will then hand him over to his parents or grandparents,’ Suwito said.

‘We urge all parents to always pay attention to, supervise, and love their children, so that similar incidents do not happen again,’ he added.

The incident went viral on social media. In a circulating video recording, the boy was seen being questioned by the online taxi driver and several residents. The boy was only discovered in the boot after the online taxi arrived in Tajurhalang, Bogor. The child admitted to sneaking into the boot when the taxi was at Bojonggede Terminal, Bogor.
